Whats new with Capture in the 11.1.1.8 version

Here it is…

  • No more windows based desktop installations and connectivity issues, its now a web based deployable app.
  • No more “Servers” , they are “Processers” now.
    Import Processor
    Conversion Processor
    Recognition Processor
    Commit Processor
  • No more vbscript, the customization needs to be done in javascript now.
  • User base, security and access: No more local user access, Oracle Enterprise Manager and OPSS (Oracle Platform Security Services) needs to be leveraged for the same.
  • Batch processing data is now available on the Enterprise Manager console in a cool graphical format.
Graphs like batches committed per minute, batches imported per minute or in a time frame are now available ootb under “Capture Performance Metrics”.
  • Guess now the ODDC (Oracle Distributed Document Capture) becomes extinct.

Will add a few more as I go along discovering the product.

As per Note: 1585057.1
“Recognition Processor” available only on Windows Systems and not “yet” on Linux Systems.
Same with “PDF searchable” option for Document output.
